This Data Policy sets out how Top Up To Teach (referred to as ‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘Top Up To Teach’) uses and protects any information that you give us when you use this website or access our services.We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this policy.We may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. If we are storing any personally identifying information about you, we will advise you of any changes the email address provided.

This policy is effective from 14 January 2021 in compliance of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

You may request to have your personal data deleted at any time by contacting the Data Protection Officer. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for legal, or security purposes.

Top Up To Teach participation

There are three reasons we may hold personal data from you on our systems:

  1. You volunteer with Top Up To Teach
  2. You have contacted us to arrange the donation of a device or financial support.
  3. You have requested a donated device for yourself or a family member / friend.

The personally identifiable data we may hold from you is;

  • first namelast name;
  • email;
  • mobile phone for contact in case of emergency
  • address where provided for delivery or collection of devices

Volunteers

  • All volunteers delivering devices to families hold valid enhanced DBS certificates. We also record the date DBS certificate status was last checked.

Young people

No contact information is held for young people under the age of 18.

General Website data

Contact forms

For people that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their contact form profile.

How long we retain your data

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide from their contact forms. This information will be destroyed after one year.

What rights you have over your data

If you have filled in a contact form, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
